Petition for a stamp to depict and promote breastfeeding in America:
As part of the effort to promote and support breastfeeding in America, and in accordance with our 2030 national health goals to increase breastfeeding rates in USA, we petition for a USPS stamp depicting breastfeeding. Many other countries have a stamp depicting and promoting breastfeeding. Since 1990, there have been other requests and petitions asking for USPS to generate a breastfeeding stamp here in the United States, yet no such stamp has been issued. Now is the time to rectify this situation since over 83% of Mothers are choosing to breastfeed their babies. Now is the time to issue a breastfeeding stamp that will reflect the interests and choices women are making, and help promote a most healthy activity that is in alignment with our 2030 national health goals in USA. https://www.cdc.gov/breastfeeding/data/reportcard.htm

INSTRUCTIONS FOR BREASTFEEDING STAMP PETITION:
Print out this petition, double sided so the address comes out on the other side. Please get 10 signatures of registered voters for this stamp petition. They do not have to be within same jurisdiction since this is not legislation we are asking for. Ask people to be neat in their writing and signature so it is easy to decipher. After you have obtained the signatures, take a photo of your signature page and email it info@stlbreastfeedingcoalition.org so we can keep track of how many signatures are sent in to the committee.
Fold the paper inwards to the size of a legal envelope and tape it shut with the address showing on the outside. Now, draw a stamp depicting breastfeeding in the right upper corner, where you would normally place a stamp. You may draw a simple or detailed stamp—just make it recognizable as a breastfeeding stamp! An example of a simple drawing depicting breastfeeding would be similar to the La Leche League or other Logos seen below, or something using the basic outline of a Mom breastfeeding a baby. Or make it detailed if you have artistic capabilities!

Place a real USPS stamp next or under to your hand-drawn breastfeeding stamp for mailing. Make extra copies if you get more signatures and repeat, or make copies and give out to people who will help with this Breastfeeding Stamp Petition. Try to do this ASAP -- if the Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee receives these petitions in a more concentrated time period, then it will make a bigger impression. Do not include these instructions with the petition, but please DO include a short personal letter from yourself on same size of paper, folded up inside the petition.
